The overpass, which will add value to the region when completed, will attract attention with its shaded structure and special seating areas where pedestrians can rest and watch the surroundings.
Modern Design, Accessible Transportation
The New Kyrenia Pedestrian Overpass will have a modern design of 50 meters in length, 6 meters in width and 5 meters in height. In order to ensure that pedestrians can cross the road safely and comfortably, there will be 4 escalators and 2 elevators on the overpass. With these features, access will be facilitated especially for the elderly, disabled and children. The overpass, which is planned to be opened in the second half of 2025, will create an important connection point between the Soğukkuyu Neighborhood and the Örnekköy Neighborhood, significantly easing pedestrian traffic in the area where the marketplace, hospital and educational institutions are dense.
Traffic Flow Will Be Eased, Living Spaces Will Be Created
One of the foot foundations of the overpass, which will also positively affect the heavy vehicle traffic on Girne Boulevard, is located next to Yeni Girne Pazaryeri and the other is located next to Öğretmenler Park.
