BrokenLore: Journey into the Dark Labyrinths of the Mind Begins with DON'T WATCH

BrokenLore: DON'T WATCH, the new psychological horror game by Serafini Productions, is preparing to drag players into an atmosphere of deep mental tension. Announced in collaboration with Shochiku and Serafini Productions, the production focuses on the increasing loneliness and mental breakdown of a young man trapped in a small apartment in Tokyo. Gamers will first meet BrokenLore: DON'T WATCH on the PC platform on April 25, and then PlayStation 2025 users will be able to share this frightening experience in 5.

Nightmarish Reflections of the Hikikomori Life

BrokenLore: DON'T WATCH invites players into the inner world of Shinji, a young man living a completely isolated life known as a hikikomori, through a first-person perspective. Trapped in solitude in his modest Tokyo apartment, Shinji struggles with financial hardship and the increasing pressure from his family, while also struggling with deep-seated anxieties within himself. Even video games, once his only refuge, no longer provide him peace, instead fueling his existential fears.

One of the most disturbing elements that deeply affects the atmosphere of the game is the supernatural, evil entity called Hyakume. This frightening figure with hundreds of eyes watches Shinji's every moment, watching for his weakest moments and haunting his mind. As players progress through Shinji's increasingly complex mind, they will deeply feel the thin line between reality and terrifying illusions gradually disappear. The game's skillfully created atmosphere manages to create a paranoid tension by constantly reminding the player of both the unreliability of the physical world and the virtual threats of the digital world.

The Dangerous Side of the Digital World

While the computer may seem like Shinji’s only connection to the outside world, the game subtly subverts this sense of trust. Developer Serafini Productions delves into the complex and layered narrative that is the trademark of the BrokenLore series, masterfully navigating the theme that fear is not only physical monsters, but also that one’s own mind can be their own worst enemy.

DON'T WATCH aims to go beyond the usual "jumpscare" tactics of the horror genre and give the player a long-term psychological discomfort. The first version of the game will meet PC players on the digital game platform Steam on April 25. Console players will have the opportunity to join this dark and disturbing journey with the PlayStation 2025 version in 5 and face the fears deep in Shinji's mind.
