A 180-Vehicle Cortege on the 170th Anniversary of the Turkish Police Department

A procession was organized by the Istanbul Police Department with the participation of 180 vehicles and helicopters within the scope of the "170th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Police Organization and Police Week" events.

The cortege consisted of 50 motorized teams and 30 team vehicles from the Istanbul Police Department Preventive Services Branch Directorate, 52 motorized teams and 30 team vehicles from the Traffic Control Branch Directorate, and 8 armored vehicles. Kadıköy They gathered on the Bostancı coastal road.

Accompanied by a police helicopter in the air, the motorbikes in the procession carried the Turkish flag and the flags of the General Directorate of Security, while Turkish flags were also hung on the fronts of the team vehicles.

The cortege, which set out accompanied by sirens, passed through Bağdat Avenue, the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, the Golden Horn Bridge, Vatan Avenue, Bozdoğan Aqueduct, Eminönü Square and Sarayburnu before arriving at Sultanahmet Square.

Motorcycle teams lined up in the area between the German Fountain and the Obelisk.

Citizens and drivers who saw the procession along the route recorded those moments with their mobile phones.

Some citizens supported the police by applauding and some by honking their car horns. Local and foreign tourists in Sultanahmet also celebrated Police Week and took photos with the police.
