
In an important meeting held between Metro Istanbul Inc. and Baku Metro, sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities between the underground transportation systems of the two metropolises were discussed in detail.
In this productive meeting hosted by AZCON Holding, the key elements of modern metro operations were discussed. The meeting also brought to the agenda important developments planned in the transport infrastructure within the framework of the comprehensive State Program prepared by Azerbaijan for the period 2025-2030. In this context, the first concrete steps were taken to create a strong synergy between the long-standing experience of the Istanbul metro and the future vision of the Baku metro.
Metro İstanbul AŞ Deputy General Manager Fatih Gültekin, in his statement regarding this important cooperation initiative, emphasized that thanks to the field observations made at different points of the Baku metro, the mutual understanding and experience sharing of both metro operators has deepened even more. Gültekin, using the expressions, “With the field observations made at different points of the Baku metro, our mutual understanding and experience sharing has been strengthened even more. Two companies, one direction. Together, we are carrying the friendship to the rails,” indicated that this cooperation will not only be a technical exchange, but will also strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two brotherly countries. This meeting signals that the Istanbul and Baku metros will work more closely on future joint projects and knowledge transfer.
