The '23nd International Mersin Children's Festival', organized by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Department to spread the excitement of the 105th anniversary of the April 2 National Sovereignty and Children's Day to the entire city, started with the first day's activities at Özgecan Aslan Peace Square. While the colorful workshops and sales stands set up in the square attracted the attention of children, the first day's activities were completed with a pleasant concert given by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra in the evening.
Local and Foreign Dance Groups Meet in Mersin
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality aims to spread the joy of April 19 National Sovereignty and Children's Day to all of Mersin by hosting lively artistic and cultural events all around the city as part of the '23nd International Mersin Children's Festival' between April 2-23. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has made significant contributions to the world of the little ones with the child-focused projects it has implemented throughout the year, will bring smiles to the faces of children with various activities on this special day and will host members of dance groups from different countries in Mersin. The members of the 'Hello Mersin' club operating within the Metropolitan Municipality will act as interpreters and hosts for the festival's international guests.
April 5 Excitement Will Be Experienced in Every Corner of Mersin for 23 Days
On the second day of the festival, April 20, the excitement will spread to different parts of the city. Introductory shows of dance groups coming to Mersin from Turkey and abroad will take place in popular venues such as Forum Mersin, Sayapark, Mersin Marina, Palm City and Tarsu AVM. This year, international dance groups participating in the festival come from Iran, Poland, North Macedonia, TRNC, Kazakhstan, Albania, Germany, Russian Federation, Georgia and Kosovo, while dance groups from Edirne, Adıyaman, Konya, Adana and Ankara will add color to the festival. Following the enthusiastic concert to be given by the City Orchestra in Mersin İdman Yurdu Square on the same day and the breathtaking show of the Turkish Stars at 18.00:XNUMX, the second day events will end with the Stage Music concert to be held in Özgecan Aslan Barış Square.
Özgecan Aslan Peace Square Will Turn Into a Children's Festival
On the third day of the festival, April 21, Özgecan Aslan Peace Square will echo with the joyful laughter of children. Following the delightful children's play 'Two Suitcases Full' to be staged at 17.00:18.00, a colorful procession will take place starting from Forum Mersin at XNUMX:XNUMX and ending at Özgecan Aslan Peace Square. Following the walk, the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra will give another concert in the square.
Ece Seçkin Concert Will Bring Enthusiasm to Peak
On the fourth day of the festival, April 22, local and foreign folk dance groups will simultaneously present their shows in different districts of Mersin such as Silifke, Tarsus, Gülnar, Mut, Aydıncık, Bozyazı, Erdemli and Anamur, spreading the excitement of April 23 to the entire city. On the same day, the excitement will reach its peak with an entertaining theater play called 'Abur ile Cubur' for children at Özgecan Aslan Barış Square, followed by MC and DJ performances and a magnificent concert by the popular artist Ece Seçkin.
The Festival Will End With a Gala Show
On the last day of the festival, April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, Özgecan Aslan Peace Square will host a DJ performance and a magnificent gala show by all the guest dance groups participating in the festival. On the same day, the '2nd International Mersin Children's Festival' will end after five days of excitement with the closing concert to be given by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra at Tarsus Culture Park.
