'Young Questions' Event from Izmir City Theatres

Izmir City Theatres has started the “Young Questions” events, which aim to increase the dialogue with the youth and the interest of the youth in the art of theatre. In the first meeting, university students who watched the play “Çok Tuhaf Soruşturma” came together with the director of the play, Harun Özer, and the actors and asked them what they were curious about.

The “Young Questions” talk event for young people has started at the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres (IzBBŞT). The event, which was organized to ensure that students studying in the city are in greater communication with the Izmir City Theatres, aims to contribute to the raising of conscious audiences by increasing the interest of the young generation in theatre.

The first event was held

The first event of the event where university students who are interested in theater ask questions about the art of theater and the play took place. DEU Medical Players, DEU Method Players and Ege Medical Players members watched the performance of the play “Çok Tuhaf Soruşturma” at the İzBBŞT İsmet İnönü Stage and met with the director of the play Harun Özer and the actors Candaş Yılancı, Mustafa Can Yılmaz, Ayhan Anıl Okan Kam and Ozan Çolak. The interest and mastery of the young people in theater was worth seeing in the “Genç Sorular” event where experience processes in different areas from the creation process of the play to acting techniques, from the direction approach to set design were conveyed.

“We are pleased with the interest of young people”

İzmir City Theaters Deputy General Artistic Director Harun Özer stated that they are pleased with the interest of the youth in the City Theaters and the art of theater, and that their doors are open to every student who wants to participate in the event. Özer spoke as follows; “We are very pleased with the interest shown by the youth in the City Theaters. Many young people are with us in every performance. We try to create new ideas that will strengthen our communication with them. 'The event we held was one of these. They asked what they were curious about, and we answered sincerely. We all had a pleasant evening together. We want to continue this event, I would like to emphasize that we are open to suggestions from the youth and that we want to be with them.”

Izmir City Theatres plans to continue the “Young Questions” event with groups formed by different young people.
