
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department AKOM has published its weekly weather forecast report for Friday, March 14, 2025. According to the report; air temperatures in Istanbul will start at around 15 degrees today and rise to 23 degrees at noon. While mostly sunny weather is expected during the day, no precipitation is forecast. It is stated that the wind blowing from the south-west direction may occasionally increase in intensity and create strong winds.
TEMPERATURE WILL BE 25 DEGREES THIS WEEKEND, 5 DEGREES NEXT WEEK
Temperatures are expected to reach 15-16 degrees on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25, while the south wind is expected to increase in strength on Sunday afternoon and evening, reaching storm levels. However, as of Monday, March 17, it was reported that temperatures will drop rapidly due to the cold air coming from the Balkans and will drop to around 5 degrees by midweek. There is a possibility of snowfall in high altitudes on Wednesday night, March 19 and Thursday, March 20.
WEATHER WILL RETURN TO SEASONAL NORMALS AT THE END OF MARCH
According to AKOM's meteorological assessment; While the first half of March will be summer-like, winter conditions will be effective between March 18 and March 23. It is estimated that temperatures will be 6-8 degrees below seasonal norms. Temperatures are expected to rise to seasonal norms again during the last week of March and the Ramadan holiday week.
AKOM called on Istanbulites to take precautions against sudden temperature changes, stating that caution should be exercised against the southwestern wind storm expected at the weekend and the cold wave that will follow.
