9 MILLION TL SUPPORT FOR DISABLED CITIZENS
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality ASAT General Directorate Subscriber Affairs Department Head Emrah Kıldırman said that water bill discount rates for disabled citizens have been increased. Kıldırman said, “When we took office in 2019, the water bill discount rate applied to disabled citizens was only 10 percent. Our President Muhittin Böcek, with the decision taken in the first assembly meeting after taking office, in line with budget possibilities, he first increased this rate to 20 percent and then to 40 percent. Previously, many of our disabled citizens were not applying for subscriptions because the 10 percent discount amount was too low. However, with the arrangements made, the number of our disabled subscribers increased from 9.458 to 19.150. Our disabled citizens can benefit from a 40 percent water discount by applying with their ID cards received from the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and disability reports obtained from health institutions. Thanks to this discount, a total of 9 million TL of water expenses of disabled individuals have been covered,” he said.
DISABLED INDIVIDUALS ARE HAPPY WITH THE DISCOUNT
Disabled citizens stated that the water discount support provided by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality was a great convenience for them. Retired teacher İbrahim Naci Ünal stated that he had an organ transplant due to kidney failure and that he had to pay more attention to hygiene, and said, “Since my water consumption increased, my bills also increased. I benefit from the disabled water support of the Metropolitan Municipality. The discount, which was 20 percent when I first applied, was Muhittin Böcek "Thanks to the 40 tax, it has been increased to XNUMX percent. Thus, I can do my shopping at the market with the money left in my pocket," he said.
