
After the completion of the district stages of the inter-high school award-winning debate competition called “Not a Debate, but a Debate”, which has become a tradition in cooperation with Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and Ordu Provincial Directorate of National Education and was organized for the 4th time this year, the provincial finals were held. The young people who are competing to make it to the last 32 in the provincial finals, which started with 2 teams, defend their ideas with the comprehensive research they have done on the determined topics.
Ordu Metropolitan Municipality is leading the way in implementing various events in Ordu through its collaborations with institutions and organizations. In this context, the Metropolitan Municipality, which cooperates with the Ordu Provincial Directorate of National Education, is organizing the 4th of its traditional “Not a Debate, a Debate” competition in order to help students develop their sense of self-confidence, express themselves more comfortably, experience different views together, and defend their ideas by reasoning through evidence and information. High schools are competing with their ideas in the competition held in 19 districts of Ordu.
THOSE WHO DEFEND THEIR IDEAS BEST WILL FINALLY GO TO THE FINAL
Following the completion of the district stages of the competition, which was carried out under the leadership of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, the provincial finals were held. In the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality DAVET Center Conference Hall, the 32 teams that made it to the provincial finals defended their ideas with their extensive research on the given topics.
In the final stage of the competition, which saw intense participation, the number of teams will first be reduced to 16. After the round of 16, quarter and semi-final competitions will be held respectively, and then 2 teams will hold the final competition.
FIRST 3 SCHOOLS WILL RAIN DOWN WITH AWARDS
Following the evaluations by experienced jury members, the teams that are successful will be given the following awards by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality:
1 thousand TL cash prize for the students of the 24st team (8 thousand TL for each student), a laptop for the school, a cultural trip for the advisor teacher
2 thousand TL cash prize for the students of the 15st team (5 thousand TL for each student), a laptop for the school, a cultural trip for the advisor teacher
3 thousand TL cash prize for the students of the 9st team (3 thousand TL for each student), a laptop for the school, a cultural trip for the advisor teacher
On the other hand, the presenter, timekeeper, jury and executive board members and other personnel working in the tournament will be given awards determined by the executive board.
