METU URAP's "2024-2025 World University Rankings" has been officially announced. Near East University, which is among the top 10 Turkish universities in the world, was also shown as the best university in Cyprus on the island.
The "2024-2025 World University Rankings" prepared by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory operating under the Middle East Technical University (METU) Informatics Institute has been officially announced.
The ranking, which takes into account six basic criteria such as the number of articles, number of citations, total number of scientific documents, total publication impact, total citation impact and international collaborations, evaluated 3,000 universities worldwide. Near East University, which rose 40 places in the world rankings, was among the “Top 10 Turkish Universities”. Near East University, which was the only Cyprus university in the top 1000 yesterday, was shown as the best university on the island. Near East University was also one of the “Top Two Turkish Foundation Universities”.

Emphasizing the international identity of Near East University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “We will continue to advance our position as a center that guides science and education on a global scale by further strengthening our identity as an international research university.”

Our place on the list also shows the weight of the publications produced by our scientists in the global scientific literature,” said Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ, adding, “These studies, which are presented with great efficiency in terms of quality and quantity, also increase the quality of education on our campus.”
