
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has published a general tender notice for the Eastern Turkey Middle Corridor Railway Development Project (ETMIC). The financing of this project will be provided by the Islamic Development Bank with 246 million 400 thousand Euros. The project aims to strengthen Türkiye's transportation infrastructure and make the national railway network more durable, accessible and sustainable.
Objectives and Scope of the Project
The Eastern Turkey Middle Corridor Railway Development Project is a major initiative aimed at improving transportation systems in eastern Türkiye. It aims to increase logistics efficiency and strengthen the resilience of Türkiye’s railway network on the Middle Corridor between the Divriği district of Sivas and the Georgian border. The project is designed to strengthen the connectivity of Türkiye’s national railway network while also contributing to environmental sustainability.
The financing provided by the Islamic Development Bank will be used for the procurement of goods, construction works, related services and consultancy services. The project plays an important strategic role with the objectives of increasing regional trade and improving the quality of the railway.
Tender Process and Participation Conditions
Tenders for the supply of materials, construction works and services to be included in the project will be held in accordance with the guidelines of the Islamic Development Bank. The tender processes will be open to all suitable bidders and will be conducted in accordance with the procedures of international competitive tenders (ICB). During this process, procurement announcements for goods, construction works and consultancy services will be announced through the Islamic Development Bank's website, the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM) website and national newspapers published in Türkiye.
Consultancy services will be selected according to the guidelines and criteria determined by the bank.
