Science Enthusiasts Meet Technology in Bursa

The 'Science and Technology Festival' organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality was held in a festival atmosphere with the participation of hundreds of students. Science enthusiasts who participated in many events from virtual reality applications to drone shows, robotic shows to knowledge contests had a day full of technology.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality continues its work to raise individuals who have scientific thinking skills and who not only consume but also produce technology. The Science and Technology Branch Directorate of the Department of Information Technology organized the 'Science and Technology Week Science Festival' at the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center. The event, which was organized for the first time on the occasion of Science and Technology Week between March 8-14, attracted great interest from children and young people who are curious about science and technology. Children and young people who participated in many activities ranging from scientific workshops to science shows, from quiz shows to virtual reality experiences had the chance to experience robot and drone shows, maker workshops and aviation applications. Families who spent a day full of science with their children also explored the endless universe of technology with exciting games and interactive workshops.

Hakan Arık, Head of the Department of Information Technology, stated that they organized the festival to increase scientific awareness in children, reinforce interest in science and introduce young people to science, and reminded that science and technology are the most important driving forces of our day. Arık, who said that science and technology, which shape the future, ensure social development and form the basis of sustainable development, are among the most important elements of building a strong society, said, “We are exploring the fun and educational side of science with a wide range of activities, from scientific content workshops to virtual reality experiences, robot shows to drone events. Under the leadership of our President Mustafa Bozbey, we aim to increase the interest of our children and young people in science and develop their discovery skills. The scientists, engineers and technology leaders of the future are growing up here, among us. Let's all move forward in the light of science and shape the future together.”
