Ramadan Street Excitement Has Started in Trabzon!

Ramadan Street, established by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality in Atatürk Square, has started to welcome its visitors. The spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan is kept alive with the stands, cultural shows and refreshments set up within the scope of the event. Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç emphasized that the event strengthens unity and solidarity.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and his wife Arzu Genç attended the Ramadan Street event organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and the City Council Women's Assembly. A total of 15 stands were opened by civil society organizations, cooperatives and associations on Ramadan Street, which was established in Atatürk Square. While the income from sales at some stands was donated to Palestine, handicraft products, bookmarks, balloons and various gifts were distributed to the public at the free stands. Hacivat-Karagöz shows were staged as part of the event, and a Turkish Sufi Music concert was presented.

Emphasizing the spirit of unity and solidarity of Ramadan, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç said, “The month of Ramadan is the month of mercy, forgiveness and brotherhood. As the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, we are here to experience this spiritual climate in the best way. I would like to thank all our brothers and sisters who contributed to this event that we organized together with the Women's Assembly of our City Council. Mayor Genç stated that they attach importance to keeping the traditions of Ramadan alive and said, “We are reviving our Ramadan traditions that come from the past in our square. We wanted to make our children smile and let us all feel the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we introduce our children to fasting with boat fasting and bring them together with the mosque. Our Ramadan Street activities are also an important organization that strengthens the solidarity of our fellow citizens by bringing them together. On this occasion, I pray to God that our activities bring unity, togetherness and brotherhood to our city.”
