Hyperbaric Excavation Method and Difficult Ground Studies
Webuild has adopted an innovative approach to overcome the difficult groundwater challenges encountered during the construction of the Casalnuovo tunnel. The work, carried out using hyperbaric excavation, has enabled the tunnel to be more than 60% complete. This method keeps construction on schedule while also adapting to the difficult geological conditions. This means the project is progressing without any delays.
New Stations and Quick Links
The Naples-Bari high-speed railway line includes nine tunnels, 145 viaducts and 25 new stations along a 16-kilometer route. With this project, travel time between Naples and Bari will be significantly reduced, with the journey between the two cities taking only two hours. This speed increase will allow the development of regional trade and tourism.
The new stations, such as Acerra, Casalnuovo and Centro Commerciale, will be in service by 2026. These stations will increase the ease of transportation for cities such as Casoria, Afragola and Acerra and support regional mobility.
Economic Development of Southern Italy and Regional Linkages
Webuild operates in four main divisions: Naples-Cancello, Apice-Hirpinia, Hirpinia-Orsara and Orsara-Bovino. These divisions will strengthen the rail connections in the Campania and Apulia regions.
