Kocaeli City Hospital Road Turns Green

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues its afforestation and planting activities throughout the province as required by its environmentally friendly city vision. In this context, 200 Himalayan cedars, known for their resistance to climatic conditions and longevity, were planted on the Kocaeli City Hospital connection road.

THE REGION IS TURNED IN GREEN

The “Kocaeli City Hospital Connection Road Slope Afforestation Project” initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department is transforming the region into a green belt. The project, which aims to increase Kocaeli’s green areas, aims to improve the aesthetic appearance of the region and preserve the ecological balance by adopting an environmentally friendly approach.

SUITABLE GROUND HAS BEEN PREPARED

As part of the project, the first stage was the preparation of the ground with soil. This soil shipment was carried out with great care in order to create a suitable ground for the greening of the region. This step makes an important contribution in terms of providing the necessary conditions for the healthy growth of trees and plants.

200 HIMALAYAN CEDAR PLANTED

In line with the afforestation works of great importance in terms of aesthetics and functionality of the region, the planting of 200 Himalayan Cedars (Cedrus Deodara) has been completed. This tree species, known for its resistance to climate conditions and longevity, will add visual beauty to the environment. In addition, 50 leafy trees will be planted within the scope of the project. Thus, the green cover of the region will be strengthened and more intense shading will be provided in the future.

GERMINATION WILL ALSO BE PROVIDED

The project will use an innovative technique used in the creation of green areas. The Hydroseeding method used on the slopes will be used to spray a special mixture of grass seed, fertilizer, water and nutrients, and a germination technique will be applied. This method will provide rapid green area formation, while also helping to prevent landslides. Thus, the natural area on the connection road will quickly become green and gain an aesthetic appearance.

WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

This afforestation project on the Kocaeli City Hospital Connection Road is important not only for its aesthetics but also for its environmental benefits. In this context, the project will help improve air quality in the region, protect natural habitats and make the soil resistant to erosion. With this project, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality aims to increase the quality of life of the local people and reinforce the concept of an environmentally sensitive city. After the completion of the project, it is expected to make a significant contribution to both the visual and ecological balance of the region.
