Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay hosted the Undersecretary of the Ministry and Foreign Affairs of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ivo Polacco, and the Italian Consul in Izmir, Daniele Bianchi. Stating that he would be happy to see relations between Italy and Izmir increase, Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay said, “We would be very pleased if you actively participate in the Izmir International Fair, which we will organize for the 94th time this year.”
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Representatives of Italy, Ivo Polacco, and the Consul of Italy in Izmir, Daniele Bianchi, visited the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Cemil Tugay. The meeting, which was attended by the Secretary General of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Ramazan Tezcan, the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Gökçe Başkaya, and bureaucrats, discussed the relations between Italy and Izmir and what can be done in the future.
Tugay: Izmir will always remain a friend of Italy
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay stated that he believes there is a great friendship between Italy and Turkey and said, “It is important for us to develop relations between our countries and cities and to contribute to cooperation as Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Izmir has a deep-rooted Italian community that has left its mark on the city’s culture. This common heritage strengthens the cultural closeness between the two communities. In the upcoming period, we want to develop direct relations with cities in Italy. We can also increase the number of events promoting Italian culture in Izmir. We would be very pleased if you actively participate in the Izmir International Fair, which we will organize for the 94th time this year. We can help business people who come here to invest. Izmir will always remain a friend of Italy.”
Italian Consul in Izmir Daniele Bianchi said, “We consider the relationship between the two countries as a strategic closeness. We wanted to discuss once again how we can further develop these relations.”
