Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that intercity bus companies will be able to use tourist transport vehicles in trips against the expected increase in passenger density during the Ramadan Feast. Minister Uraloğlu announced that the practice will continue until April 7, 2025.
“We Anticipate Crowding During the Holiday”
Uraloğlu noted that they expected serious congestion in intercity passenger transportation during the holiday and said, “We anticipate that there will be congestion during the holiday. It seems difficult for the current scheduled trips to meet this demand. For this reason, we have made it possible for bus companies that provide ticketed passenger transportation to use vehicles authorized for tourism transportation on scheduled trips.”
B2 and D2 Vehicles Can Be Used in Additional Trips
Minister Uraloğlu said, “Companies with B1 and D1 authorization certificates will be able to use B25 and D2 documented vehicles with a seat capacity of 2 and above on ticketed flights. The practice will continue until April 7, 2025.”
“The Control System Will Be Active”
Uraloğlu stated that strict supervision will be maintained in the transportations made with these vehicles and said, “The supervision system will be active. Companies will not go beyond the scheduled passenger transportation line list, comply with the fee schedules, assume responsibility in the transportations and report to the Transportation Electronic Tracking and Supervision System regarding the transportation activities.”
