
The construction of the Dülük-OSB Tunnel, which will be implemented with the cooperation of the General Directorate of Highways, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone Presidency, started with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and the General Director of Highways Ahmet Gülşen.
“We have put into service important highway projects in Gaziantep”
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Uraloğlu stated that they increased the length of divided roads in Gaziantep from 116 kilometers to 464 kilometers and the length of hot bituminous mixture coated roads from 179 kilometers to 452 kilometers and continued his words as follows: “We connected Gaziantep to Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Şanlıurfa and Hatay with divided roads. We put into service important highway projects such as Nurdağı – İslahiye Road, Sakçagözü Crossing, Gaziantep – Yavuzeli – Araban Road, Dutlu Overpass, Gaziantep – Kilis Road, Gaziantep – Şanlıurfa Motorway, Başpınar and Şehir Gösteren Overpass Intersections, Başpınar Organized Industrial Zone Intersection, Gaziantep – Kilis State Road University Different Level Intersection, and the Gaziantep City Hospital Intersection that we opened last year. Many of our highway projects such as Osmaniye – Nurdağı Road, TAG Highway Superstructure Repair Work, Gaziantep – Nurdağı State Road Construction Work are also ongoing. Now, we are at the groundbreaking ceremony of Dülük-OSB Tunnel together with Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.”
Total Length of the Project: 8 Meters
Uraloğlu noted that two 300-meter tunnels will be built within the scope of the project planned to carry citizens working in Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone, which acts as a locomotive for the city's economy and continues its uninterrupted production with its 3 thousand employees, under the Dülük Forests, and that the total length of the project will be 250 meters, including the connection roads to be built.

Minister Uraloğlu said, “The planned route will start with the D-400 West Dülük junction and reach the Tarsus Adana Gaziantep Highway Gaziantep OSB junction in the north direction. While the Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone Presidency and our Metropolitan Municipality will build the tunnel, our General Directorate of Highways will build approximately 5,5 kilometers of section and 3 different-level junctions and 1 railway bridge in this section.”
Uraloğlu said that when the project in question is completed, the commuting times of citizens working in the OSB will be shortened and traffic density will decrease, thus both work efficiency will increase and city traffic will be relieved.
