Applications for the “Best Design and Implementation Competition for a Greener Antalya” to be organized by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality will begin on Monday, March 24. The application deadline for the competition, which will be organized in 4 subcategories consisting of 12 different main categories this year, will be Friday, May 9.
The countdown has begun for the “Best Design and Implementation Competition for a Greener Antalya” organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality to increase environmental awareness and love for the environment and to support the visual quality of the living environment. The competition aims to encourage public interest in landscaping and urban landscaping, support innovative designs and draw attention to climate change.
NEW CATEGORIES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE COMPETITION
This year, a series of changes were made to the competition and new categories were added. The most beautiful districts category, where landscape applications are evaluated and exhibited, will be open to the participation of green area designs belonging to district municipalities in Antalya. Participating municipalities will be able to send their projects for the area where the application is made on-site within their own district borders. In the applications, project originality and the use of species specific to the region are important.
THE BEST APPLICATIONS WILL BE SELECTED
The competition, which will be organized with the support of Akdeniz University, TMMOB Chamber of Landscape Architects, TMMOB Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Antalya Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chamber Union (Antalya Florists Chamber), Antalya City Council and Antalya Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters Union, will be open to public participation in the Most Beautiful Green Area Applications category. In this category, applications for the most beautiful terrace, the most beautiful apartment-site garden, residential garden, workplace garden, hobby garden and the most beautiful open and closed balcony within the Muratpaşa, Kepez, Konyaaltı, Döşemealtı and Aksu districts will be evaluated and awards will be given to the first, second and third place winners.
FLORISTS AND STUDENTS WILL ALSO COMPETE
In the Best Floristry Designs category, which was added to the competition for the first time this year, florists in the regions covering the Muratpaşa, Kepez, Konyaaltı, Döşemealtı and Aksu districts will be able to participate with their arrangement, terrarium and tag designs. In the Best Landscape and Urban Equipment Designs category, students studying in the “Architecture, Agriculture and Fine Arts Faculties” within the borders of Antalya province will be able to participate with their comprehensive original designs related to “Landscape and Urban Equipment Designs” (plant landscape, game-sports etc. recreation area designs, urban furniture and other urban equipment such as benches, picnic tables, pergolas, trash cans, disabled and safety equipment, lighting etc.).
A TOTAL OF 495 THOUSAND TL WILL BE GIVEN AS AWARDS
Applications for the competition must be hand-delivered to Antalya Metropolitan Municipality between March 24 and May 9, or made online via the web address (tasarimuygulamayarismasi.antalya.bel.tr). This year, a total of 12 thousand TL in prize money will be distributed, with 20 thousand TL for the first place, 15 thousand TL for the second place and 10 thousand TL for the third place in 495 different subcategories.
