China, Iran and Russia to Conduct 'Security Belt 2025' Exercise

China, Iran and Russia began a joint naval exercise called “Security Belt 2025” off the coast of Iran’s Chabahar Port yesterday.

The Baotou destroyer and Gaoyouhu supply ship belonging to the Chinese fleet, the Jamaran destroyer of the Iranian Navy, the Aldar Tsydenzhapov frigate of the Russian Navy and many other warships are participating in the exercise.

Observers from many countries, including South Africa, Oman and Pakistan, are monitoring the exercise on site.

The exercise, which started on March 9 and will continue until March 13, includes activities such as hitting sea targets, temporary surveillance and capture, damage control and joint search and rescue operations.
