Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır opened Çankırı Teknokent as part of Türkiye's technology-focused development journey. This step has brought to life an important project that contributes to the development of cities with technology and innovation. In addition to its historical and cultural richness, Çankırı is also aimed to become an important center in the field of science and technology.
Development of Technological Infrastructure
In the last 22 years, Turkey has built a huge R&D and innovation infrastructure from scratch. According to Kacır’s statements, the number of technoparks has increased from 2 to 105, and the number of startups in these technoparks from 56 to 11. While the number of R&D and design centers has exceeded 500, 1600 Technology Development Centers contribute greatly to the scaling of startups and the process of opening up to the market. This transformation stands out as one of the concrete examples of Türkiye’s technology and innovation-focused development strategy.
Financial Support and Incentives
Minister Kacır emphasized that they provided financial support to ensure the sustainable growth of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. With the funds and co-financing models of the funds they put into effect, a total of 4,1 billion liras of public resources were transferred to the initiatives. In this way, 88 billion liras of investment was mobilized in the growth process of the initiatives. In addition, the initiatives that benefited from R&D incentives at the highest level were enabled to achieve significant success in their fields.
Technology Entrepreneurship and Çankırı Technopolis
Çankırı Technopark is rapidly advancing towards becoming an important center in terms of technology and entrepreneurship. Çankırı has prepared the ground for innovative business ideas in the city by establishing this technopark in order to activate its potential in high-tech production and entrepreneurship. Çankırı’s support for this project with its Karatekin University, established in 2007, and its industrial infrastructure offers a great opportunity for regional development.
Support and Infrastructure Investments for Entrepreneurs
The service building of Çankırı Teknokent was specially designed to contribute to value-added and technology-focused development. The service building, established with 222 million lira support from the ministry, includes office areas, an incubation center and prototype workshops. In this way, entrepreneurs will be able to develop their innovative business ideas and bring them to the market.
Future Vision: Technology-Oriented Development
Minister Kacır stated that including all cities in the technology-focused development journey is a strategic priority. The rapidly filling office spaces of Çankırı Teknokent show that there is high interest in technology entrepreneurship in the city and that these projects will grow even more. In addition, the GO Enterprise Office opened in Ankara aims to provide entrepreneurs with faster access to customers, the business world and investment opportunities.
Çankırı Teknokent stands out as a project that will make major contributions to Türkiye's entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. This step is an important step taken by Çankırı towards technology-focused development, and is another concrete step taken to build a country with high technological competitiveness and welfare in Türkiye's "Century".
