
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that the Bakırköy Sahil-Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro Line has been serving Istanbulites for a year. Minister Uraloğlu said, “This metro line, which strengthens Istanbul’s transportation infrastructure, has served 17.1 million passengers since the day it was opened.”
“Our Project Brought Breath of Life to Istanbul’s Urban Transportation”
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the 8,4-kilometer-long metro line with 7 stations provides uninterrupted transportation to 4 densely populated districts of Istanbul, namely Bakırköy, Bahçelievler, Güngören and Bağcılar. Stating that the transportation time between Bakırköy and Kirazlı has decreased to 13,5 minutes with the line entering service, Uraloğlu said, “Transportation from Kayaşehir to Bakırköy İDO is provided in only 39 minutes. Our project has breathed life into Istanbul’s urban transportation.”
Uninterrupted Transportation with Bakırköy-Kirazlı Metro Line
Minister Uraloğlu noted that passengers departing from Bakırköy Sahil, Özgürlük Meydanı, İncirli, Haznedar, İlkyuva, Yıldıztepe and Molla Gürani stations and Kayaşehir can now travel to Bakırköy with a single train instead of a journey ending in Kirazlı.
Minister Uraloğlu, stating that the line is connected to Kayaşehir-Kirazlı Metro and Yenikapı-Bağcılar-Kirazlı Metro at Kirazlı Station, noted that it is also connected to the Metrobus Line and Yenikapı-Atatürk Airport Metro at İncirli Station. Minister Uraloğlu underlined that uninterrupted transportation is provided by integrating with Marmaray and High Speed Train Line at Özgürlük Meydanı Station and Istanbul Sea Bus at Bakırköy Sahil Station.
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that they will continue to invest in the future of Istanbul with the vision of the Turkish Century, and said, “We continue our work uninterruptedly with the goal of faster, more comfortable and accessible transportation. We will continue our services for Istanbul.”
