AHMİMDER Brings Hope to Children Who Are Burn Victims

Established to support children who have suffered burns in Türkiye and other parts of the world, the Ala Hayat Minik Masumlar Derneği (AHMİMDER) carries out life-changing operations together with volunteer doctors in the health sector. Children who have suffered severe burns on their bodies due to war, natural disasters and accidents are being treated and held on to life again with the support of the association. AHMİMDER, which has provided thousands of children with surgeries in countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Syria, Afghanistan and Uganda, not only provides medical assistance, but also closely follows the rehabilitation processes of children.

The charity movement started by Ayşegül Aksu is growing

While she was dreaming of studying law, an unfortunate accident that happened to her mother caused Ayşegül Aksu to open a new page in her life. After graduating from Selçuk University Health Management Department, Aksu started working in the health sector and closely observed the difficulties experienced by children who were particularly burn victims. Unable to remain indifferent to the tragedy of children who could not access treatment, Aksu founded the Ala Hayat Minik Masumlar Association and started a mobilization in this field together with volunteer doctors. Today, the association, which touches the lives of children in need in many countries, continues to grow and reach more children under Aksu's leadership.

The hand of compassion that transcends boundaries

AHMİMDER’s work is not limited to Turkey. Actively working in war zones and regions where it is difficult to access health services, the association provides hope to victimized children with scoliosis surgeries and physical therapy support, as well as burn treatment. Hundreds of children, such as Azerbaijani Ismail (12), who was burned while trying to save his brother in a fire that broke out in his house, Syrian Emine (14), who was seriously injured when a bomb fell on her house during the war, and Eymen (8), who is struggling to survive with burns caused by a stove igniting, have regained their health thanks to surgeries supported by the association. Aiming to extend a helping hand to more children every day, the association is preparing to undertake new projects with the support of donors.
