25 Million Euros Credit to Uludağ, Türkiye's Leading Soft Drinks Producer

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a €25 million loan to Türkiye’s Uludağ Energy Production Inc. to finance investments in production lines and renewable energy capacity.

The loan will be used to finance the establishment of two aseptic production lines at the company's Yenice factory, which will operate without water, use dry sterilization methods that consume less energy and minimize chemical use.

The funding will also be used to install solar panels at the factory, reducing the carbon footprint from production.

In addition, the investment will increase the company's competitiveness and enable it to produce new products and value-added products.

Founded in 1912 in the city of Bursa and named after the nearby Mount Uludağ, Uludağ is one of Türkiye’s oldest and largest soft drink brands. The company currently has two production facilities – one in Çaybaşı and the other in Yenice, near Bursa.

Welcoming the transaction, Erdem Yaşar, Vice President of EBRD Turkey, said: “This partnership not only strengthens our shared commitment to sustainability, but also strengthens Uludağ’s competitiveness in the beverage sector, where sustainable practices have become critical to long-term success. Together, we are paving the way for a more resilient and responsible future.”

Uludağ Finance Manager Doğan Güneş Susuz said, “We continue to lead the sector with our innovative and efficient production approach. With this new phase of our long-standing partnership with the EBRD, we are further strengthening our sustainable production capacity. By commissioning aseptic production lines and solar panels for our Yenice factory, we are increasing our energy and resource efficiency while reducing our carbon footprint. We sincerely thank the EBRD for their valuable support. Together, we will continue to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.”

The EBRD is one of Türkiye's most important investors, having invested more than €2009 billion in Türkiye, mostly in the private sector, through 478 projects and trade finance lines since 22.
