
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the ship, which was affected by harsh weather conditions off the coast of Sarıyer Kilyos last night, was towed to a safe area with the intervention of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety teams.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that intervention was being carried out on the ship named FILICKI 3 that crashed close to the shore in Sarıyer Kilyos last night. Minister Uraloğlu said, “We determined that the ship FILICKI 3 was exposed to danger by coming too close to the shore due to harsh weather conditions. The ship’s engines were operational. We intervened immediately against a possible risk.”
The Ship Was Anchored at Büyükdere Anchorage Area
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the ship was secured with the Rescue-7 Tugboat and a pilot in the operation coordinated by the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, and made the following statements in his statement:
“With the escort of our tugboat Kurtarma-7 and the guidance of our experienced pilot, the FILICKI 3 vessel was guided safely. With the operation carried out by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety teams, the FILICKI 3 vessel was safely anchored at the Büyükdere Anchorage Area.”
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the operation was also followed from land and said, “Our Land Evacuation, or lifesaving, team followed the incident moment by moment and made all necessary preparations for a possible intervention.”
Coast Guard on Duty 7/24
Minister Uraloğlu stated that all necessary precautions were taken to ensure the orderly flow of ship traffic and to protect environmental safety, and said, “Our Coastal Safety teams are on duty 7/24 against any kind of incident to ensure safety at sea. Our teams continue to work in instant monitoring and coordination to minimize possible risks and accelerate intervention processes.”
