Integral dx Unveils New Generation Shunting Locomotive Series

American railway manufacturer Integral dx has announced its new Shunting locomotive series with improved features. These new locomotives promise efficient solutions for rail transport, offering a power range of 660-1360 kW, a weight of 74-163 tons and a traction force of 210-378 kN. The company expects high demand, especially from US military institutions looking to replace their aging locomotive fleets.

High Efficiency and Flexibility

The new locomotives are equipped with two engines and can operate in multi-unit configurations. This feature allows the locomotives to operate more efficiently and flexibly. Another aspect of this series that stands out with its high efficiency and modern features is its environmental friendliness. The locomotives are equipped with Caterpillar C series engines that comply with Tier 4 environmental standards.

Modern Technologies and Reuse of Old Equipment

The Integral DX modernises technology while reducing costs by using remanufactured bogies and traction motors from former EMD locomotives manufactured between the 1950s and 1970s. The locomotives can be customised to customer specifications and offer a range of cab layouts.

Customized Solutions and High Order Volume

Integral dx has gained significant expertise in the production and modernization of special equipment for the industrial and military sectors, having completed approximately 1999 orders since 900. The company operates in both the industrial and military sectors and continues to implement new technologies.

The first delivery of the new locomotives is reportedly for the US Navy, but the certification process is not yet complete. These developments show that Integral dx continues to implement pioneering technologies in the field of rail transport and is on its way to becoming a major player in the sector.
