Entertech Istanbul Technopark, one of Turkey’s most successful technoparks, carried out the “Emergency Search and Rescue and First Aid Awareness Program” in cooperation with Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa and Avcılar Municipality in order to ensure that the society is prepared for disasters. Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erol İnce and Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara attended the program held at Avcılar Municipality Applied Solutions and Innovation Center. Within the scope of the program attended by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa students, Avcılar Municipality personnel and Entertech Istanbul Technopark employees, participants were given training on emergency search and rescue and first aid awareness. At the same time, participants gained practical information on how to behave in the event of a real earthquake through earthquake and first aid application simulation experience trainings.
Speaking on the subject, Entertech Istanbul Teknokent General Manager Dr. Muhammed Kasapoğlu said, “The presence of conscious and knowledgeable people who can remain calm in disaster situations is very important for all processes to be carried out more quickly and functionally. Since we live in a region that is considered an earthquake zone, we think that it is essential for as many people as possible to be aware of search and rescue efforts and first aid in emergencies. In order to create this awareness, we find it very meaningful to organize this awareness program on the anniversary of the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. I pray to God that our country will not experience such disasters again and I offer my condolences to all our citizens who lost their lives in such disasters in the past and to their relatives.”
