ASELSAN, adding a new one to its investments in technology and production, opened the Transportation, Security, Energy, Automation and Health Systems (UGES) Sector Presidency robotic production line. The opening, which was also attended by ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, was recorded as an important step towards the company's digital transformation goals.
AS366 Robotic Production Line: The Power of Digitalization
The integrated robotic production line, which ASELSAN calls AS366, was designed as one of the basic elements of the company's aselsaneXt vision. In line with this vision, one of the most important features of the line, which was created to increase production capabilities, is that it has real-time data processing capability. AS366 is the first robotic production line to communicate with SAP, and with this innovative system, the production process has been made digital and automation-supported.
The AS366 robotic production line was implemented through the collaboration of units such as process design, production planning, quality control, information management and supply chain management in production management. The digital infrastructure of the line offers the opportunity to work with real-time data at every step, and instant process steps and product confirmations can be transferred to the SAP system. This increases the accuracy and speed of the production process, while also minimizing manual errors.
Improvement in the Production Process and Increased Efficiency
With the establishment of the AS366 line, significant productivity gains were achieved in the production process. The material feeding process was made dynamic by switching to the use of automatic torque wrenches, and a 60 percent improvement was achieved with innovative methods such as production visualization and digital documentation studies. In addition, it became possible to obtain faster and more accurate results in production processes thanks to automatic testing equipment.
The robotic production line initially started operating in a single shift and is planned to switch to two shifts as of February 2025. With an annual production capacity of 100.000, AS366 will significantly increase ASELSAN's production power and provide a more efficient production process.
2024 Year-End Evaluation Meeting
In parallel with the opening of the robotic production line, ASELSAN also held the 2024 year-end evaluation meeting of the UGES Sector Presidency. Following the opening speech of General Manager Ahmet Akyol, UGES Sector President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çelik shared the 2024 performance data, financial indicators, export activities, human resources data and 2025 delivery plans. Çelik also provided important information about UGES's 2030 vision and provided guidance on future goals.
The meeting continued with presentations from Security, Transportation, Energy and Health Systems program directors. Changes in product and technology roadmaps and ASELSAN's future goals were discussed in detail. This process was an important turning point in line with the company's long-term strategic plans.
ASELSAN's Vision for the Future
ASELSAN aims to increase its production power not only in Turkey but also worldwide with its robotic production line and digitalization strategies. Reinforcing its leadership in the sector with its innovative production technologies and R&D investments, ASELSAN aims to meet future demands in the most efficient way with its advances in digitalization and automation. These investments pave the way for ASELSAN to become a stronger player in global markets.
