Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality is taking an important step to strengthen the tourism potential of Karasu, the blue pearl of the Black Sea.
Recreation project
A new recreation project was prepared for the crossing point where the river flows into the sea and shows the miracle of nature, which is very rare in Turkey. In addition, fishing platforms built by Karasu Municipality were also included in the project.
A tender will be held on Thursday, February 20 for the coastal and landscaping project in Karasu Yeni Mahalle, where the Sakarya River flows into the Black Sea.
A new attraction
The project, which includes a walking and resting area, bicycle path, seating groups, shades, fishing areas, modern lighting, landscaping and environmental planning within an area of 6 thousand 380 square meters, will bring Karasu a new area of attraction when it is completed.
Fishing platforms built by Karasu Municipality were also included in the project.
It will be one of the most popular spots
When the recreation is completed, this area will be one of the most popular points of Sakarya's Black Sea tourism destination.
Will contribute to tourism potential
Stating that they have developed projects to beautify the coastline in the districts along the Black Sea and to make the region a preferable tourism area, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar stated that they will make a great contribution to the tourism potential of Karasu with the coastal arrangement works they will carry out in Karasu Yeni Mahalle.

Mayor Yusuf Alemdar said, “Sakarya is a special city with its lake, river, floodplain and coasts along the Black Sea. We know that our city has great potential in terms of tourism. We are implementing projects that will reveal the potential of our city so that it can obtain a larger share of this tourism pie. With the support we receive from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, we will carry out an exemplary coastal arrangement and landscaping work in Yeni Mahalle, where the Sakarya River flows into the Black Sea. We will hold the construction tender for the project on Thursday, February 20. May it be beneficial for Karasu, our fellow citizens and our city.”
Coastal Park will also be renewed
Additionally, within the scope of the tender, worn-out and worn-out flooring, children's play areas, shade canopies and seating areas in Karasu Coastal Park will be renewed and made ready before the summer season.
Blue Flag for Beaches
In addition to the new project to be implemented in Karasu, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its preparations to bring the blue flag back to the beaches. The blue flag will fly on 2 beaches in Karasu and 1 beach in Kocaali in the new season.
