
The Ejder Yalçın 4×4 Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle, produced by Ankara-based Nurol Makina, will serve the Hungarian Armed Forces under the name ‘Gidran.’ Named after Hungary’s symbolic horse, Gidran is increasing its effectiveness in the European market.
The first Gidran / Ejder Yalçın 4x4 was delivered to Hungary at a ceremony attended by Hungarian Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovnıczky and President of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün. Nurol Makina, which opened its first branch in Europe in Hungary in 2019, had made an agreement with the Hungarian company Raba for the production of the vehicle. It was announced that the Ejder Yalçın 4x4s will be produced at the Raba facility in the city of Györ for the Hungarian Army.
Hungary to Receive 300 Vehicles
Hungary plans to add a total of 300 Gidran Ejder Yalçın 4x4 vehicles to its fleet. These deliveries are considered one of the important steps towards strengthening Hungary’s land defense capacity.

Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün made a statement on his social media account regarding the delivery, saying, “With this delivery, we have once again proven the power of the Turkish defense industry in the global arena. The Turkish Defense Industry has become an important player in the global defense market by exporting more than 40 land vehicles to more than 4.500 countries. We will continue to produce non-stop, grow with exports, and strengthen cooperation with friendly and allied countries.”

Ejder Yalçın 4x4 is a modern tactical wheeled armored combat vehicle with a high level of protection against mines and improvised explosives. The preliminary prototype of the vehicle, which began development in 2012, was exhibited in 2013 and mass production began in 2014.

The delivery of Ejder Yalçın 4x4s to Hungary is considered a step that strengthens both Turkey’s effectiveness in the defense industry and the military and industrial partnership between the two countries. The cooperation between Nurol Makina and the Hungarian company Raba is seen as a development that will further advance Turkish defense industry activities in Europe.
