Nature walk events organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department continue. The last stop of the events, which aim to encourage sports while exploring the natural beauties of the city, was Güdül Sorgun Yaylası.
NATURE WALKS WILL CONTINUE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS
7 nature and sports lovers, aged 70 to 300, participated in the walk held on the plateau, which draws attention with its unique nature. While the participants enjoyed the fresh air and nature, they also drew attention to the importance of a healthy life by doing sports.
Youth and Sports Services Department Sports Services Branch Directorate Education Manager Lütfiye Demirciçeşmesi said they were pleased with the intense interest in nature walks. Demirciçeşmesi stated that they will continue to organize similar events in different parts of Ankara in the future and said, “We are organizing a nature walk in Sorgun Plateau with a group of 300 people together with the Capital Mountaineering and Nature Sports Club. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we continue to bring together citizens of all ages with sports with the slogan ‘Future with Sports’. The number of our nature walks will gradually increase in line with the demands from our citizens in the spring and summer months.”
NATURE AND SPORTS FANS ARE HAPPY
Citizens stated that doing sports in nature gives them energy and that they want such activities to increase, and expressed their satisfaction with the organization with the following words:
Onur Kartal (President of the Capital Mountaineering and Nature Sports Club): “There are those who are joining the organization for the first time. We will give them information about walks and nature. We chose a short and suitable route for them. There are citizens from many age groups among us. We thank the Metropolitan Municipality for providing this opportunity.”
Osman Cakmak: “We are tired but the walk is fun. Fresh air, plenty of oxygen… The weather in Güdül is very nice. We always expect all our people to attend such events. The Metropolitan Municipality did a great job. We are pleased.”
