Snow in Kayseri Takes on the Silhouette of Mimar Sinan

Kayseri's world-famous value, Mimar Sinan, came into being in the form of a statue with the black touch of artists at the Hunat Hatun Madrasah Culture and Art Center, which serves under the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality.

In the ancient city of Kayseri, full of history and natural beauties, along with the riches integrated with nature, trained artists also share in these beauties. In this context, Artist Ali Akargöl, who performs his art at the Hunat Hatun Madrasah Culture and Art Center, took advantage of the heavy snowfall and made a snow sculpture of Mimar Sinan, who literally breathed the spirit of Kayseri into the stones.

Artist Ali Akargöl, who stated that he performs his art on Kültepe tablets, cuneiform and stone carving at the Hunat Hatun Madrasah Culture and Art Center, stated that he started working on snow due to heavy snowfall and shared that he had previously made snow sculptures on Erciyes.

Akargöl, who performs his art without paying attention to the falling snow and among the interested looks of the citizens, said, “I am working on snow figures here. Our current work is Mimar Sinan. If the snow density increases and it snows enough, we will do different works.”

“I am thinking of making a bust of Hunat Hatun”

Akargöl, who stated that he is thinking of making a bust of Hunat Hatun if the weather conditions are favorable and the snowfall continues, invited everyone to the Hunat Hatun Madrasah Culture and Art Center to see his work and said the following:

“I am even thinking of making a bust of Hunat Hatun here, but if the weather conditions are good and there is enough snow, we are thinking of doing that too. If those who want to see it come to the Hunat Hatun Cultural Center, they can see our work here, take pictures, spend a nice time and keep it as a memory.”

Citizens who saw the works on site did not forget to take photos.
