Continuing its work with the goal of “Faster Samsun”, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality is expanding its transportation network by adding new routes to bus services.
In order to increase efficiency in public transportation lines, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality made route changes on 7 bus lines (E6, 24B, 22/23, R8, E2, 20, R5) upon the demand of the citizens. The changes aim to provide service to a wider audience and support regions with low public transportation service supply. In addition, it is planned to increase access by making stop works in line with the demands of the citizens on the lines where the route changes were made by the Metropolitan Municipality. After the new stops to be added, citizens will be provided with ease of access with a distance difference of 100-150 meters. The route changes made will be observed by the teams for a while and positive and negative feedback will be evaluated.
Bus Line No. 20
While the 20th Street and Bahçeşehir College stops were added to the bus line number 1246 serving Soğuksu, Atatürk Boulevard and Alaçam Street, the Anadolu Boulevard, 1219th Street, Yeşildere and Şehit Alaaddin Pergel Street stops were removed from this line, aiming to provide faster and more comfortable access.
In the regions, with the stop works to be carried out in Yeşildere and Şehit Alaaddin Pergel Streets, access to Alaçam Street will be facilitated; uninterrupted service will continue to be provided with the E7 Express line from the Anadolu Boulevard location, which has been removed from the route service, and the R1219 Ring line from 5th Street.
E7 Express Line
While bus number 24B was being transformed into E7 Express Line, it was planned that E7 Express Line would depart from Büyük Cami stop and connect to Education and Research Hospital and from there to Highways via Anadolu Boulevard. In this context, E7 Express Line was transformed into an inclusive express line serving on OMÜ, Cağaloğlu Boulevard Highways, Anadolu Boulevard, Bus Station, Education and Research Hospital, 2nd Boulevard Road and Büyük Mosque route.
R5 Ring Line
The number of stops on the R5 Ring Line, which serves Türk-İş, Nişantaşı Street, Serhat Street, Alaçam Street and Karayolları, has been increased. 1219. Street and Şehit Can Şencan Street have been added to the line. Instead of only the service of the line number 20 in the city center direction, the ring service, which will provide access to both Atakum and the city center by transferring, continues uninterrupted access service in the region.
Bus Line No. 22
While the 22/23 numbered bus line serving Soğuksu, Municipality Houses, Atatürk Boulevard, Barış Boulevard, Bus Terminal, Education and Research Hospital, Toybelen, Çobanözü and Korupark was changed to Bus Number 22, Aydınlık Street and Türk-iş transfer were added to this line. From Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard, the express line E6 Ekspres was extended to Cumhuriyet Square, providing ease of access.
E6 Express Line
The network of the E6 Express Line has also been expanded. The line, which has added 2 new stops, has determined the last stop as the Grand Mosque. In other words, the E6 Express Line will now serve on the route of OMÜ, Cağaloğlu Boulevard, Education and Research Hospital Additional Service Building, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard, Derecik, Bus Terminal, Education and Research Hospital, Barış Boulevard and the Grand Mosque.
R7 Ring Line
Kesilli location was added to the R7 Ring Line serving Türk-İş and Kamalı to facilitate access for students in the region during the hours requested.
Bus Line No. 14
Kuşçulu Neighborhood was also included in the Bus Line No. 100, which serves the Büyük Mosque, 14. Yıl Boulevard, Şehit Mustafa Zıvalı Boulevard, Güzeldere Neighborhood, Ataköy Neighborhood, and Training and Research Hospital areas, in order to facilitate access for citizens in the region during the hours requested.
E2 Express Line Back in Service
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has started to put the E2 Express Line into service after the demands from the citizens. The E2 Express Line has started to operate on the Taflan, Atatürk Boulevard, TTTM, Municipality Houses and Soğuksu route. During the university education period, the line will provide service to Samsun University Ballıca Campus, facilitating access for students.
