Machine Chemical Industry's Project to Turn Land Rover into an Electric Vehicle

Introduction of MKE E-Terrain Vehicle

Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) introduced the domestically produced E-Land vehicle at the Winter Exercise-2025 held in Kars. This vehicle was created by converting a 1993 model Land Rover 110, which has an important place in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, into an electric car. The Land Rover 110 obtained from recycling draws attention with its zero maintenance costs and quiet driving features. E-Land was designed as a vehicle to be actively used by the TSK in difficult terrain conditions.

Technical Specifications of MKE E-Land

The E-Land is equipped with two electric motors at the front and rear instead of the internal combustion engine in the Land Rover 110. This system gives the vehicle full four-wheel drive and produces 4 kW (246 horsepower). Offering a range of 335 kilometers on a full charge, the E-Land has a total battery capacity of 400 kWh at the front and rear. Able to reach a maximum speed of 107,5 km/h, this vehicle exhibits superior performance on sloping terrain thanks to its high horsepower. It also draws attention with its ability to accelerate quickly.

Advanced Technological Features

MKE has not only renewed the engine of the E-Terrain vehicle, but also added various technological features such as a 360-degree view camera and a multimedia screen. The multimedia screen in the vehicle provides important data to the driver by showing engine performance and range information. In this way, drivers can proceed safely even on difficult terrain.

Domestic Production and Recycling

MKE aims to add strength to the Turkish Armed Forces by converting recycled Land Rovers into E-Land. This transformation enables the recovery of old military vehicles from their idle state and their transformation into a modern off-road vehicle. In this way, both environmental sustainability is contributed to and the operational capability of the TAF is increased.

Interest of Foreign Delegations

E-Land has also attracted the attention of foreign visitors participating in the 2025 Kars Winter Exercise. Many armies have old model Land Rover vehicles in their inventory. This transformation by MKE has attracted great international interest and is an example for other countries.

Conclusion

MKE E-Arazi is not only an off-road vehicle that draws attention with its domestic production and advanced technology features, but is also a project that contributes to environmental sustainability. Developed for the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, this vehicle has the capacity to effectively operate in difficult terrain conditions. With its domestic production approach, the advantages offered by E-Arazi will continue to attract the attention of both the Turkish Armed Forces and international armies.
