Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality continues to diversify and increase its projects based on clean energy. In this context, the Green Energy (Solar Energy System) and Animal Drinking Water Supply Project, which will be carried out especially in rural areas, has started to be implemented.
Continuing to produce projects to make the city more livable both in the city center and in the countryside in line with sustainable growth targets, the Metropolitan Municipality under the management of Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç continues to put forward projects for green energy, which is gaining more and more importance in the world and in Turkey, in line with sustainability and environmental protection targets.
In this context, studies are being carried out within the scope of the Green Energy (Solar Energy System) and Animal Drinking Water Supply Project in various locations, developed and implemented by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Rural Services Department.
Providing Drinking Water Needs for Animals in Mountainous Areas and Pastures with Solar Energy
With the project, the energy required to bring underground water to the surface will be provided by a solar energy system, thus meeting the drinking water needs of animals in mountainous areas and pastures where there are no power lines.
A Suitable Environment is Being Prepared for Breeders' Animals
The pilot implementation of the project has started in Develi Epçe Neighborhood, and it is planned to open boreholes in the pasture area, meet the energy need with a fixed solar energy system, build a concrete shed (havt), build a shade shelter where animals can be sheltered from the sun, and protect the area where the facility is located with concrete poles and barbed wire and cage wire.
The First Phase of the Project, Drilling Works, Has Been Completed
The drilling works, which started about 1 month ago and are the first leg of the project, have been completed, and water with sufficient flow rate has been reached at a depth of 50 meters. It is envisaged that the necessary planning will be made for the next stages and the project will be put into practice.
When the Project is Completed, Livestock Farming in the City Will Develop, Become More Common and Increase Income
When the project is completed, it is aimed to expand animal husbandry in areas of the city suitable for animal husbandry, develop activities, reduce migration from villages to cities and increase farmers' incomes.
