IETT Increased the Number of Closed Stops by 45 Percent

IETT, the world's second largest public transportation institution, increased the number of closed stops across the city by 45 percent in order to increase the comfort of Istanbulites at the stops.

While the IETT General Directorate, an affiliate of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), is rapidly increasing its investments for bus and metrobus fleets and garages, it is also continuing its efforts to increase both environmental health and comfort at every stage of transportation.

In this context, it is rapidly increasing the number of closed stops so that passengers are minimally affected by climate conditions at stops, especially during rainy periods and hot summer days. With the work carried out, the number of closed stops, which was 2019 in 4, was increased by 969 percent to 45.

Thus, the comfort of Istanbulites in public transportation, apart from buses, has been increased. The number of closed stops was increased by 2010 percent in the 2019-12 period.

IETT's goal is to renew all stops in the city center with closed and smart stops.
