Elon Musk's Team Blocked from Accessing Personal Data

A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Advisory Group on Public Administration Reform from accessing the personal and financial records of millions of Americans held by the Treasury Department.

Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Advisory Group on Public Administration Reform from accessing the personal and financial records of millions of Americans held by the Treasury Department.

Engelmayer said the government's new policy could lead to sensitive classified information being illegally disclosed to the public and make computer systems more vulnerable to attack.

The organization, popularly known as DOGE, is run by billionaire Elon Musk. Musk and his team are required to immediately destroy any copies of the data taken. Attorneys general in 19 Democratic-controlled states have sued the president and the Justice Department, saying the organization violated federal law by taking the data.
