Aiming to make urban transportation in Diyarbakır modern and comfortable Dağkapı-Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital (EAH) Tram Line, was revised within the scope of the 2040 Transportation Master Plan. After the detailed studies and feasibility studies were completed, the project was submitted to the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM) for approval.
Project Expansion and Revision Process
Firstly Diyarbakir Transportation Master Plan (DUAP-2025) The line, determined within the scope of the 2040 Transportation Master Plan, underwent a comprehensive revision with the evaluations made within the framework of the XNUMX Transportation Master Plan. Authorities stated that they aimed to expand the service area of the line in order to reduce the public transportation load in the city center and increase passenger capacity.
In this process transportation study, preliminary project and feasibility reports completed. The route and technical details of the line were shaped in line with the data received. It was planned to increase the efficiency of public transportation by integrating the project into the main transportation axes of Diyarbakır.
