Breast Cancer Awareness Training in Memory of Esen Kurt

The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to transform parks into education centers as part of the “Health-Improving Parks” project. The last stop of the project was Narlıdere Esen Kurt Park. Within the scope of the event held on the 5th anniversary of the death of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens and Project Manager Esen Kurt, who lost her life due to breast cancer, breast cancer awareness, the effects of chemicals on health and basic first aid training were given this time.

The “Health-Improving Parks” project, implemented in collaboration with the Health Education Branch Directorate of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Health Affairs Department and the Parks and Gardens Department, transforms parks used as recreation and activity areas into education centers. The study, which looks after the “well-being” of Izmir residents, includes physical activities as well as training on nutrition, first aid and protection from home accidents. One of the parks where the project was implemented was Narlıdere Esen Kurt Park. On the 5th anniversary of the death of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens and Project Manager Esen Kurt, who gave her name to the park and lost her life due to breast cancer, expert trainers from the Health Education Branch Directorate provided training on breast cancer awareness, the effects of chemicals on health and basic first aid to citizens. The trainings were attended by Esen Kurt’s family, Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay, Narlıdere Deputy Mayor Çağrı Sofu, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Council CHP Group SözcüElvin Sönmez Güler and Narlıdere muhtars also attended.
