Turkey's domestic and national ballistic missile Tayfun has made its third successful test launch from Rize-Artvin Airport. This development, which holds an important place in the defense industry, has once again demonstrated Turkey's determination to increase its military capacity.
Typhoon Missile Tested for the Third Time
The Tayfun ballistic missile, developed by Roketsan and supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries, was launched from Rize-Artvin Airport, as in previous tests. While extensive security measures were taken in the region during the test process, no official statement was made about the missile's target range.
It is known that the range of the Tayfun is longer than 300 kilometers. In general, ballistic missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers are classified as "Tactical Ballistic Missile (TBM)", and those with a range of 300-1000 kilometers are classified as "Short Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM)". It is estimated that the Tayfun is in the SRBM category in this classification.
An Important Step in the National Defense Industry
With the Typhoon missile, Turkey aims to increase not only its border security but also its strategic deterrent power. By developing its domestic production capacity in ballistic missile technology, Turkey is reducing its external dependency and making its own defense systems more independent.
While these test launches demonstrate how effective the Tayfun can be in the field, they also provide critical data for the development of more powerful and longer-range missiles in the future.
The third successful test launch of the Tayfun missile shows that Turkey has made significant progress in terms of its defense industry. With future developments, Turkey's domestic and national missile systems will become more powerful and will make major contributions to the country's defense capacity.
