The Metropolitan Municipality is working day and night to provide Kocaeli with a higher quality and safer transportation opportunity. In this context, intensive work is being carried out on the Alikahya Stadium Tram Line Project, which includes Sultan Murat, Yuvam Akarca, Sabancı Boulevard, Alikahya Fatih, Alikahya Center and Kocaeli Stadium stops.
KOCAELI IS KNITTED WITH IRON NETS
The Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented multi-million lira investments such as interchanges, ring roads, overpasses, parking lots, and smart transportation systems in Kocaeli, continues its work at full speed to cover the city with iron networks and equip it with modern transportation vehicles. In this context, work continues at full speed on the “Alikahya Stadium Tram Line” project, which was initiated to both relieve Alikahya traffic and facilitate access to Kocaeli Stadium. The total length of the line, which includes Sultan Murat, Yuvam Akarca, Sabancı Boulevard, Alikahya Fatih, Alikahya Center, and Kocaeli Stadium stops, is 3.8 kilometers. The infrastructure work on the Fatma Seher Street route of the line, of which approximately 1 kilometer has been completed, continues.
THE GOAL IS A MORE LIVABLE KOCAELI
The Metropolitan Municipality is working day and night for a more livable Kocaeli with projects that will make daily lives easier for citizens. Teams are working intensively to complete the Alikahya Stadium Tram Line project, which will start from the Izmit Intercity Bus Terminal (Bus Terminal), pass through Binnur and Akyazı Street, Sultan Murat and Fatma Seher Hanım Street, Sakıp Sabancı Boulevard and Bağımsızlık Street, and to bring the tram to Kocaeli Stadium.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPERSTRUCTURE WORKS CONTINUE
The infrastructure works consisting of single-lane side road, tram line, reinforced concrete culvert, station manufacturing, rainwater, wastewater and drinking water, electricity and telecom manufacturing and curb and sidewalk superstructure works on Fatma Seher Hanım Street are continuing at full speed. Due to the works, the road where Fatma Seher Hanım Street, Sakıp Sabancı Boulevard and Albay Karaosmanoğlu Street intersect was closed to traffic.
TRANSPORTATION WILL BECOME FAST AND COMFORTABLE
In the region; 2.300 tons of superstructure, 700 meters of curb, 1.500 square meters of paving, 1.300 line-meter rail laying, 1 S switch assembly, station manufacturing, assembly of catenary system parts, 1 reinforced concrete culvert and various diameters (waste water, rain water and drinking water), telecom and electrical infrastructure manufacturing continues uninterruptedly. When the works are completed, the asphalted side road and the culvert under the Anatolian Highway will be reopened to traffic. Rails will begin to be laid on the tram line route, where infrastructure works have been completed. With the completion of the project, Alikahya traffic will ease, and transportation, especially to Kocaeli Stadium, will become more comfortable and faster.
