Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues to provide material support to amateur sports clubs active throughout the city this year.
Speaking at the material support program held at the Selçuklu Municipality International Sports Hall, Turkish Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation Vice President and Konya Amateur Sports Clubs Federation (ASKF) President Remzi Ay thanked Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay on behalf of club managers and athletes. Stating that Mayor Altay provides everything an athlete needs from A to Z, Ay said, “May Allah be pleased. I travel to 81 provinces. Our fields and facilities are examples for all of Turkey. Everything we have is really sparkling.”

Konya Youth and Sports Provincial Director Birdal Öztürk said, “I think our athletes, clubs and coaches are very lucky. I would like to express my gratitude as a former national athlete for your contributions to amateur sports. I think that this valuable support you provide to athletes and clubs has a great contribution to Turkish sports both nationally and internationally.”

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay reminded that Konya is a prominent city in many ways, but especially with the recent sports investments, it has become a sports city in the heart of Anatolia.
Mayor Altay, who emphasized that the region they are in has become an exemplary sports center for Turkey, starting with the sports hall built by the Selçuklu Municipality; sports complex, stadium, Olympic swimming pool, athletics track, football fields, said, “It is not enough to build the facilities. They need to be used in the best way. Therefore, our amateur sports clubs play a very important role in the use of these facilities. As our Mayor stated; amateur spirit is difficult, challenging but also fruitful and beautiful. I would like to thank the valuable presidents of all our amateur sports clubs on behalf of all our youth. May Allah be pleased with you.”

Expressing his great happiness that the support they provide has more than doubled this year compared to last year, Mayor Altay said, “You deserve the best and the most beautiful of everything. As Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we have always been with you and will continue to be with you, God willing. As Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we have provided the sports equipment needed by our 220 sports clubs this year as well. God willing, these will contribute to the success of our children. Our request from our youth is that they continue to be interested in sports. Because our country needs young, healthy, thinking youth. Therefore, it is very important and valuable for you to be here and engage in sports instead of spending time in front of the screen. I wish you success in the competitions where you will have the National Anthem sung and the flag raised, which is the desire of every athlete and which we also attach great importance to in representing Konya. May God always show you good days. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed.”
After the speeches, the materials were delivered to the clubs.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality will provide material support worth 31 million 220 thousand liras to 2025 amateur clubs operating in 16 districts in 200.
