After the hotel fire disaster in Bolu Kartalkaya, eyes turned to Uludağ. Nation Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Hüsamettin Akyıldız said that urgent action must be taken for the 'white heaven'.

GET SUPPORT FROM ACADEMIC ROOMS

Stating that Uludağ is one of the few winter tourism centers in the world, Nation Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Hüsamettin Akyıldız said, “The occupancy rate in accommodation facilities in Uludağ, which is 40 kilometers away from Bursa city center, is likely to reach 100 percent during the mid-term holiday. It should not be overlooked that hotels and other businesses here experience serious congestion especially every winter season. All measures against fire risk in hotels and facilities with a capacity of approximately 5 thousand beds should be reviewed urgently. All sanctions should be applied to those who do not comply with the rules, without exception. The disaster experienced in Bolu should at least be seen as a painful lesson and all businesses and facilities, including those in the city center, should be subject to a total check in terms of fire safety.” Underlining that the hotels in Uludağ are mostly constructed with wooden materials, Akyıldız said, “In effective cooperation with the relevant academic chambers, commissions should be established with the axis of municipality-governorship-ministry and an X-ray of the region should be taken. What needs to be done afterwards should be implemented within the scope of a plan according to the urgency. Otherwise, our hearts will continue to burn even more.”
