Red Road Application Ended in Manisa

The works implemented by Manisa Metropolitan Municipality with a participatory management approach are appreciated by the public and are met with great interest. The latest example of this approach was the survey study in which the future of the Red Road application was determined in line with the demands of the citizens.

The vast majority of those who participated in the survey voted in favor of removing the Red Road. President Zeyrek stated that the future of the Red Road was up to the citizens to decide, and said, “We will quickly take the necessary steps in line with the result that our people voted with a strong rate of 86 percent to remove it.”

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out its work at various points of the city with the aim of a more livable, safer Manisa. Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to act by taking the opinions of the muhtars, district municipalities and civil society organizations as well as the citizens in the radical changes made with the participatory management approach, has once again asked the citizens for their opinions on the decision it will make. The survey launched on the Metropolitan Municipality's website to remove or continue the Red Road application has been completed. The results of the survey, which determined what to do about the future of the Red Road application that started in 2019, have been announced. 86 percent of the participants in the survey decided to remove the Red Road application.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Architect Ferdi Zeyrek stated that the survey launched for the Red Road application has ended and wished the results of the survey to be beneficial. Making a statement on the subject on his social media account, Mayor Zeyrek said, “Our citizens have decided on the future of the Red Road. We will take the necessary steps quickly in line with the result that our people voted with a strong rate of 86 percent to ‘Remove’. We will continue to do the best for Manisa with our common sense and participatory management approach. I would like to thank all of my fellow citizens who showed great interest in our survey, shared their ideas with us and have a say in the future of our city.”

Emphasizing their commitment to the will of the people, President Zeyrek said, “We want to govern Manisa with a participatory approach. We say, ‘Come and have a say in the administration.’ We want to implement this discourse in every decision we make,” and underlined that the process was progressing in a transparent and democratic manner. President Zeyrek emphasized that they will continue to shape the future of Manisa together with the people with a participatory administration approach, citizen-focused approach and common sense.
