DISPLACEMENT WORKS PROGRESS
On the route; station, shaft and depot area settlement studies, interaction studies with existing and planned infrastructure facilities and engineering structures and infrastructure displacement works are progressing rapidly. Seka DH Station excavation and shoring works allocated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality are continuing under the supervision of Kocaeli Museum Directorate.
EQUIPMENT WAS BROUGHT TO THE FIELD
Traffic circulation approvals and infrastructure project approval processes for areas to be closed due to construction along the route are ongoing. On the other hand, the parts and equipment of the tunnel boring machine that will perform the main line tunnel excavations have been brought to the field and assembly work has begun. Workshop/construction site offices, dumping area and quarry planning are ongoing.
THE BIGGEST INVESTMENT MADE IN KOCAELI
The project has a total investment budget of 1.8 billion dollars, including 400 billion dollars for line construction and 2,2 million dollars for vehicle investment. The Körfezray Metro Line, which will be the largest single investment to be implemented in Kocaeli, is also included in the Transportation Master Plan of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality.
101 MILLION PASSENGERS PER YEAR
In the first phase of the Kocaeli Northern Light Rail System Line, a 1-kilometer rail system line and 26,85 stations are planned. The project aims to transport approximately 18 thousand passengers daily and 300 million passengers annually on the east-west axis of Kocaeli.
18 STATION WILL TAKE PLACE
The first stage will start from the Tüpraş-Petkim Junction and continue to İzmit East Station and will be 26,85 km long. There will be 18 stations on the line that will pass through the districts of Körfez, Derince and İzmit. The metro line is planned to be put into operation in 2028. A total of 298 passengers will be carried daily in the opening year.
