The cultural heritage of Kayseri, to which Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç attaches special importance, is gaining even more value with new arrangements that will attract the attention of history lovers.

New Work Conducted in 3 Sections of the Museum

Within the scope of the works carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality Urban History and Promotion Department in the museum, works were carried out in 3 sections. A new arrangement was made in the faith section of the museum, enriched with mosque visuals. In addition, a new section was created regarding the excavations carried out in the Red Pavilion, shedding more light on historical discoveries. A special section on Gevher Nesibe Hatun will be rewritten with her unique love story and presented to visitors.

Museum Work Continues Unabated

Head of the Department of City History and Promotion Gürcan Senem stated that they continue their works in the field of museums as Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality without slowing down and said, “In line with the instructions given by our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, our works regarding museums continue without slowing down. We have made our Koramaz Valley Museum open, and we will open this museum in May, God willing. Apart from this, our other works regarding the Trade Museum, Assyrian Merchants Street and Kültepe Museum continue without slowing down.”

Senem, who noted that they were carrying out work to make changes and renovations in the exhibitions and arrangements in the museums that were currently providing service, said, “In this context, we are in the Seljuk Museum. We made changes and innovations in the exhibitions and arrangements in three sections.”

Providing information about the changes and innovations made in the Seljuk Civilization and Gevher Nesibe Medical History Museum, Senem said, “In the first section, in our belief section, we enriched our visuals about mosques on the Anatolian Seljuk lands, on the Great Seljuk lands. In addition, we created a section about the results of the excavations we carried out in the Red Pavilion between 2020-2021. We will now be able to see both the adventure of the excavation and the findings from the excavation in our Seljuk Museum.”

Gevher Nesibe Hatun is Specially Described

Head of the Department of City History and Promotion, Gürcan Senem, stated that they created a special section in the museum where Gevher Nesibe Hatun, who gave her name to the madrasah, was told, and said:

“Finally, we wanted to do a study on Gevher Nesibe Hatun. Gevher Nesibe Hatun is the benefactor of our museum. She is a historical figure who had this madrasah built with her own property. We believed that she should be told in this museum in a special way. We rewrote her love story and are currently trying to present it to visitors in order to complete the display and arrangement of her tomb accordingly.”

Senem gave the good news that the Red Pavilion and Gevher Nesibe Hatun sections of both the Koramaz Valley and the Seljuk Civilization and Gevher Nesibe Medical History Museum will meet with visitors soon.
