
“Craft workshops” established by the Ministry of National Education in 81 provinces to ensure that basic skills for professional fields are acquired at an early age opened their doors to students during the semester break.
Craft workshops opened within the scope of the “Skill Development Program” for vocational education in 81 provinces in secondary education institutions under the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education offer students the opportunity to discover basic skills in their professional fields during the semester break.
Students studying at least at the 7th grade level in official and private formal education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education can attend craft workshops opened in vocational and technical secondary education institutions approved by the governorships in 81 provinces free of charge.
There are 147 modular courses prepared in twelve fields of vocational and technical secondary education institutions in craft workshops, namely “Information Technologies, Handicraft Technology, Electrical-Electronic Technology, Graphics and Photography, Food Technology, Metal Technology, Furniture and Interior Design, Radio-Television, Accommodation and Travel Services, Fashion Design Technologies, Agriculture and Food-Beverage Services”.
The modules include many different courses, from easy pastries to wood inlay, from traditional Turkish decorative arts to analog circuit elements, from fruit and vegetable production to digital sound editing.
Applications for craft workshops can be made through the address “e-kurs.meb.gov.tr”.
Students who successfully complete the skill development programs are given participation certificates and these documents are added to the students' "e-Portfolios".
Craft workshops aim to provide students with basic professional skills, offer them a wide range of career options by increasing their academic and professional success, facilitate their access to professions, and support their basic professional development that encourages lifelong learning.
