Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that Çukurova International Airport has served 2 million 8 thousand 448 passengers since it opened. Minister Uraloğlu also provided information about aircraft traffic and said, “A total of 13 thousand 698 aircraft have landed and taken off at our airport during this period.”
Minister Uraloğlu, who evaluated the passenger and aircraft traffic of Çukurova International Airport, Turkey's 58th gate opening to the sky, reminded in his written statement that they put the airport into service on August 10 with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Uraloğlu said, "Our airport has hosted over 2 million passengers since the day it was opened."
2 Million 8 Thousand 448 Passenger Traffic
Minister Uraloğlu announced that since its opening, Çukurova International Airport has hosted a total of 1 passengers, 546 of whom are domestic and 408 are international. Uraloğlu also provided information about aircraft traffic, saying, “A total of 462 aircraft have landed and taken off at our airport, 40 of whom are domestic and 2 of whom are international.”
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the airport has an annual passenger capacity of 9 million and a terminal area of 110 thousand square meters and said, “Even the widest-bodied aircraft can land and take off on its main runway, which is 3 meters long and 500 meters wide. Our airport, which serves over 60 million citizens living in Mersin and Adana, as well as Osmaniye and Niğde, is one of Turkey’s most important gates opening to the Middle Eastern countries.”
Stating that Çukurova International Airport is one of the most important infrastructure investments in the aviation sector due to its regional nature, Uraloğlu said, “It will make a great contribution to the development of the Çukurova Region and will be the locomotive of regional development.”
