MY MOTHER ALWAYS SAID….
The comedy play “Annem Hep Derdi ki”, which is also the center of attention with its name, makes its audience laugh and moves them. Written by Katherine Di Savino, translated into our language by State Theaters Dramaturge Servet Aybar, and staged with Nedim Saban’s adaptation, the play tells the story of the problems experienced by a young couple preparing for marriage and the cultural shock they experience in an entertaining language. After completing their education in the USA, Nusret and Işıl, who come to Turkey with an idealistic spirit, have difficulty adapting to the changing conditions of Tarlabaşı and Istanbul and while considering postponing the marriage, they encounter a surprise from their mother and father. They decide to carry this difficult process they are experiencing in their relationship safely into the future with the advice of their mother.
MASTER ACTORS ON STAGE IN THE COMEDY “MY MOTHER ALWAYS SAID THAT”
Çiçek Dilligil and Mert Asutay play the mother and father of the boy's side in the play Annem Hep Derdi Ki. Aziz Sarvan and Ecmel İs play the mother and father of the girl's side. Mert Aykul and Dilara Mücaviroğlu play the romantic couple of the play, and Aşkın Şenol plays a fantastic character symbolizing the urban transformation of the play.
MOTHER'S WORD INSTEAD OF PROVERB
Çiçek Dilligil invited the entire design and technical team of the play and the director Nedim Saban to the stage… In her final speech, Saban thanked the entire team and said, “The derby and the rain scared us, but nothing prevented the audience from filling our hall,” and thanked the guests as well.
“Even though the events, relationships, people we encounter, and situations we experience change from generation to generation, country to country, and place to place, the only thing that does not change is the advice our mothers give us and the solutions she finds. It is not known whether the truth of motherly advice is the wisdom of being a mother, regardless of the culture she lives in, but the most accurate information we know is that “Our mothers are always right.”” he said, thanking Servet Aybar, who staged the play for his sick mother, for this work he brought to life. Nedim Saban’s suggestion of a proverb instead of a proverb was applauded the most by the men in the hall.
