The Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they rebuilt the house of a family that was illegally demolished by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank city of Hebron in 2022, and said, “We took action at that time together with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and signed a protocol with the Hebron Municipality to build a new house for our family.
"With the protocol, the house was completed and delivered to the family. As the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Konya, we will continue to do our part for our Palestinian brothers," he said.
The house of a Palestinian family in Hebron, which was unjustly demolished by the murderous Israeli regime, was rebuilt in cooperation with the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB).
Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, in his statement on the subject, reminded that the murderous Israeli regime has been systematically carrying out massacres in Palestine for years and has turned them into genocide in Gaza as of October 6, 2023.
Emphasizing that the Palestinian people have continued their resistance honorably despite the oppression and injustice they have been subjected to for years, Mayor Altay said, “The murderous regime unfairly and unlawfully demolished a family’s house in the city of Hebron in the West Bank in 2022. Thereupon, we, together with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, took action at that time and signed a protocol with the Hebron Municipality to build a new house for our family. With the protocol, the house was completed and delivered to the family. I send my endless gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project.”
TDBB President Altay emphasized that Palestine is a matter of conscience not only for Muslims but for all humanity, adding:
“It is our historical and humanitarian responsibility to stand by our Palestinian brothers and sisters against the destructive policies of the murderous state, to defend their rights and to show our solidarity. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will continue to defend justice against oppression, construction against destruction, and hope against despair. As the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Konya, we will continue to do our part for our Palestinian brothers and sisters. On this occasion, we once again send greetings and prayers to our Palestinian brothers and sisters who have become the symbol of resistance all over the world.”
